Isn't it always amazing that every summer, kids around the country - the same children who begged, pleaded and cried for the freedom of long, lazy summer days - are soon complaining relentlessly about being bored. As if Toys R Us didn't cash in on the amusement park in our backyard! And what ever happened to using their imaginations? Is this a lost art? I seem to have to constantly prompt my kids with creative ideas for something to do (and they truly don't appreciate the many suggestions for more chores, books or schoolwork - hmmm, I don't get it!).
